Kelly McLendon, RHIA
Kelly McLendon, RHIA has had a varied and unique career specializing in cutting edge, high performance work experiences. He put himself through the University of Florida and Florida Tech University (now known as the University of Central Florida) as a Captain of Beach Lifeguards at Canaveral National Seashore after a stint with the Volusia County Beach Patrol (one of the top rated Beach patrol’s in the world). After graduation in 1978 he served 2 years as Assistant Director of Medical Records under Ann Youngblood at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital a 800+ bed facility that served as a foundation for all aspects of Medical Record practice. He then moved into Director of Medical Records at Jess Parrish Memorial Hospital in his hometown of Titusville, Florida. His experience at JPMC rounded out his management and medical Record experiences.
He then took a position as Director of Marketing and Sales for Hospital Cooperative Association (HCA) a Vendor that microfilmed hospital medical records. They had 13 clients and one production site in Central Florida. Kelly not only added many clients to their Central Florida site, but he sold and expanded into offices in Houston, New Orleans, Miami and Atlanta, wherever he went to sell the market evolved and the company prospered. At the end of HCA’s run they had 5 production locations and over 300 sites, all sold by Kelly.

Karen Garrett Youmans, MPA, RHIA, CCS
Ms. Youmans has over 25 years experience in the Healthcare environment and the HIM profession. She was previously the Executive Vice President of Pyramid Healthcare Solutions, Inc. Ms. Youmans' career has also included Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida; Coding Product Consultant and Client Resource Specialist with CodeMaster/QuadraMed; Practice Manager, Coding products and services with AHIMA; as well as HIM Director and Assistant Director at several hospitals.
Since 1980, Ms.Youmans has been an HIM consultant in various capacities including all aspects of HIM, Coding, Revenue Cycle, CQI, Education, & Legal Health Record. Her current expertise is in HIM operations, Interim Management, Coding education & training, Revenue Cycle improvement projects, Electronic Document Management and EHR strategies, Legal Health Record and EHR implementation projects.

Rebecca Way, RHIA
Rebecca Way has over 10 years experience in the Health Information Management environment. She has worked both in the acute care setting and as a consultant in various capacities.
Rebecca has been actively involved in conducting hospital assessments for preparation toward the Electronic Health Record in acute care Florida hospitals and in addition, completed a very comprehensive assessment for the Public Hospital Authority of the Bahamas. These assessments included full documentation of current-state processes in all areas of HIM, record storage and availability, forms review, staffing analysis and software assessments. The client was then given a full report on findings, recommendations for EHR readiness and current state workflows with visio’s.

Sandy has decades of experience with IT, HIM and Project Management. She is very well versed in many HIT systems and vendors and has worked with both the IT and operational sides of healthcare providers.
Amanda Zak, MS, RHIA
Amanda brings HIM operational expertise and fine wring skills to health Information Xperts. She is developing Privacy and HIM based tools for Physician practices as well as the hospital venue of care.
