In general the rules were eased up a bit from the earlier version published in January.
When finished Kelly will post the analysis / summary in his store for free download.
Around July 8 there was another Propsoed Rule for Privacy released by HHS. Kelly will analyze and post information on this rule, which looks to be very similar to what we already have seen as far as Privacy rules are concerned under HITECH. So hang on for more info.
Also the final meaningful use rules will be out any day, Kelly will also analyze those.
The Final Rule for Certificaiton (i.e. Temporay program until a more final one is established lateer) has been released. This rule is for organizations that would like to become certificaiton bodies and perhaps healthcare providers that need to do some self certification of EHR Modules that are not certified by their vendor (maybe due to version issues). I doubt that is a very easy process, but could be acheivable if the reguations are followed closely. I have not read the fianl rule yet, but will soon. — Kelly
